Voici les commentaires que nous avons reçus en réponse à la question 1 de la consultation en ligne, qui est : Comment pourrait-on faciliter la recherche et l'utilisation des données gouvernementales fournies en ligne?

License agreements for usage and distribution of derivatives of data need to be clear. Whether a use is "commercial" or not is often an inappropriate term as it is also often not well defined.

My chances of finding the appropriate data increase when more data is made available. As much data as is reasonable and possible should be made available to the people. When the information can be published easily in both languages, it should be, but this should never restrict the government from publishing any data that it has, in its original language.

The Government of Canada does a great job overall in delivering services, but as a young Canadian, I find myself constantly surprised by the existence of projects like the Adverse Reaction Database [http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/medeff/databasdon/index-eng.php].

There’s a ton of amazing stuff being accomplished by public servants, but a really lacklustre job is being done in promoting them.
