Voici les commentaires que nous avons reçus en réponse à la question 1 de la consultation en ligne, qui est : Comment pourrait-on faciliter la recherche et l'utilisation des données gouvernementales fournies en ligne?
Nous sommes engagé à respecter la Loi sur les langues officielles et à faire en sorte que tous les renseignements soient fournis en français et en anglais. Les renseignements venant de sources externes, tels que l'information dans la section « Commentaires reçus », sont affichés dans la langue dans laquelle ils nous ont été fournis. Les commentaires du public sont offerts à titre d'information seulement; aucune modification n'y est apportée. On ne demande pas de rétroaction sur ces commentaires.
Plus...It would be much easier to find and utilize the data if it was standardized and universally made available in a single location, far beyond the scope of the data.gc.ca pilot project. The information ideally needs to be available in multiple standard formats with an open license to allow anybody to utilize that data in multiple ways (commercially or otherwise).

Plus...To easily FIND data, the data should be easily searchable via the web. Obviously, there would be a website that would house all of your data available open data products.
To make it easy to USE data, provide the data in standard formats such as CSV, XML. You can still use proprietary tools (like Beyond 20/20) or "less open" formats such as SPSS or SAS files, just as long as the standard formats are available.

Provide summary at-a-glance statistics for government activities
Undertake Usability Studies to create statistics that are timely, meaningful, easy to understand, and accurate.
These would allow citizens to understand what their government is doing, and hold them to their commitments.

Je recommande un portail centralisé rassemblant les hyperliens de toutes les bases de données disponibles au public organisé par thèmes, par exemple, affaires consulaires, santé, finances, etc.
